Fish Tales Pub and Grill
About This Spot
Nestled just off the highway at the welcoming edge of Southern Retreat RV Park, Fish Tales Pub and Grill offers more than a simple stop—it invites you into a scene where local charm and laid-back comfort intertwine effortlessly. From the moment you pull up, there’s a cozy buzz in the air, a friendly hum woven through the rustic, unpretentious space that feels like a well-kept secret among Brunswick locals.
The atmosphere here strikes a delicate balance between the casual ease of a neighborhood gathering spot and the warm liveliness of a favorite local hangout. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows down just enough to savor good company and even better flavors, with a backdrop that hints at stories shared and memories made. Whether it’s a spontaneous pit stop or a weekend evening filled with live music, you’re wrapped in an inviting embrace of friendliness that feels genuine, not staged.
Food at Fish Tales is a joyful act of discovery—comfort fare with a fresh twist that reflects both coastal bounty and hearty cravings. Imagine biting into fried shrimp that carries the unmistakable salt-kissed freshness of the nearby Atlantic, or savoring a burger stacked with crispy onions and house-made cheese sauces, all served with the no-fuss satisfaction of a meal made for sharing and lingering over. The menu’s warm, approachable variety—from all-day breakfasts to inventive pizzas—makes it easy to find something that feels like a small celebration on your plate.
The pub’s rhythm is punctuated by conversations that flow easily and servers who seem to know the art of attentive care without distraction. It’s a place where people settle in, sometimes unwinding after a long day’s travel, other times gathering to toast the simple pleasure of good food, honest drinks, and a welcoming smile. With each visit, there’s a subtle but distinct sense that you’re stepping into a local tradition, one built as much on warmth and friendliness as on the flavors that bring everyone together.

Amazing place! Don’t waste your time with the restaurants right at the interstate (I-95). It’s a short 1.3 miles away and you won’t regret it. Tamera was our server and took awesome care of us. We had the grilled shrimp special, the fried shrimp special, the cheese curd burger and the kids’ chicken fingers. Everything was delicious. It’s located at the entrance of the Southern Retreat RV park. If you’re camping there, this is an outstanding eatery and bar. We will absolutely be back when traveling through the area. Make sure to mention to your server if you’re a veteran, active duty, or a first responder.

Very good grilled shrimp. Can really taste the freshness from the Atlantic Ocean. Their homade Fish Tails Ale is fantastic. Personable service.

Adorably decorated restaurant at the front of an RV Park. Ordered the Drunken Onion Burger which comes with Beer Cheese and Crispy Onions on a Pretzel Bun. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy and finger-licking good! It is usually accompanied by house made chips, but we opted for a side salad with honey mustard dressing. Friendly service by Lisa, cozy and cute atmosphere. Found on Google Maps.

This is GOOD FOOD, ya'll!! I've eaten there enough to know they are consistent in their food. The staff are very kind and efficient. Clean place and a beautiful bar. Im coming back to say SEVER BEWARE!!!! There is an older woman with salt and pepper hair, not a nice lady with really short hair. She's sweet. The other server completely ignored my table. She walked right by us when we were waiting for someone to seat us. She finally came back rudely and asked what we wanted to drink and was even worse when we asjed for a carbonated drink, which their whole systen was diwn so no carbonated beverages. Strange seeing as they are a bar as well. It's not good for business, especially at the holidays. This waitress was kind and attentive to every other patron except us!!! We asked for napkins 3 times before we finally got some. She hollered across the restaurant, asking us what we needed when we tried to get her attention. I believe she needs to find a different profession. I usually tip VERY WELL. she got the very minimum and did not deserve that. She should have paid our ticket in my eyes. Really good food. Just be careful of the server you are assigned.

First time visit on a Friday night and wasn't disappointed. Atmosphere, live band playing great music, delicious food, and fair priced drinks, perfect combination for a casual night out. I had the fish sandwich and it was huge. The sweet potato waffle fries were delicious. And the fresh pizza that you can custom order any way you want was better than many places and way more toppings. Only complaint was their fryer grease was either a little dirty or old, so hopefully next time it will be better. The place was packed, would recommend getting there early to avoid the dinner rush and party crowd. Pics included of dinners.

We had an amazing meal at Fishtails. The food and service were a cut above what we have had anywhere else in the area. We went for the burger special on Friday. We are planning to try their French dip next Thursday.

We randomly booked a spot for two weeks at Southern Retreat RV Park, and were pleasantly surprised with the awesome open-to-the-public Fish Tales Pub and Grill located on the premises. It was Sunday so they had their special $9.99 grilled or fried Shrimp basket which was enough for two people and came with unique delicious fries and hush puppies. They also have a 2-for-1 on Bloody Mary’s and/or Mimosas. The staff was super friendly, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance and unique decor was perfect to top it all off! Excited to be staying steps away from this restaurant for the next two weeks, and will definitely frequent the establishment while we are here.

Overall good-my shrimp were relatively good, steak was actually great and cooked perfect, sweet potato fries were the waffle fries that are a little thin- so they get cold quick and did - but I was expecting that and they still tasted good. Coleslaw tasted a little weird - not off , just like whatever dressing they use may just have a weird taste. Tea was super good, the water had an off taste in both cups that we got (tasted like soap, wasn't a big deal since we had plenty of drinks ) Overall, good though, server was nice.
